![]() ![]() Quash also only affects one of the opposing Pokemon, and it consumes the user’s turn every time you want to take advantage of its effects. ![]() On the other hand, Quash is a move with many limitations- it effectively forces the user to have Prankster in tow for it to be used to maximum effect, and to be usable at all outside of that, the user has to at least have very high Speed. And that ain’t good if you’re Chomp, because you’re now wide open to being dunked on by basically any decently strong Ice move in the game. You know how playing against Garchomp is kinda just a guessing game of whether or not the thing is Scarfed? No matter- with this move (with Prankster attached, at least), even Scarf Garchomp now becomes slower than a Quiet-natured level 1 Slowpoke at -6 Speed holding every Power item, Iron Ball, and Macho Brace (or vice versa in Trick Room- Surge Surfer Raichu or something). I mean, hell, just consider the sheer number of Pokemon (in any meta) that would be very easily dealt with if only they had lower Speed (or, with this move, effectively zero Speed). On one hand, Quash is yet another move that is capable of being extremely powerful, used correctly. I will give a brief explanation of this one since it’s one that many people haven’t even heard of- essentially, when a Pokemon gets Quashed, its move will now be the last one to occur in the turn, regardless of Speed (with or without abilities, Scarf, or boosts), field conditions (TR, Tailwind, etc.), and even priority bracket (assuming it is Quashed before the priority move occurs). I’m changing it to 10 because many of the moves on my list, like Safeguard and Quick Guard, are now outclassed by things like Terrains.) ![]()
